Have you ever been in rush hour traffic in Philadelphia or grid lock after a Philadelphia team has won a game? They are two completely different experiences. I will never forget when the Eagles won the Superbowl. As a Pittsburgh Steelers fan I was completely displaced, but the effects of the 2017/2018 Philadelphia sports season were so amazing that other industries were impacted; for example, NBC Sports Philadelphia who became one of the most watched Regional Sports Network (RSN) in the country. Similarly, to that time, this week we find the Philadelphia sports teams receiving well deserved attention.

The joy of the Philadelphians erupted throughout the city when the Philadelphia Phillies won against the Arizona Diamondbacks in game 1 of the National League Championship Series (NLCS). Nick Castellanos became the second MLB player to hit his fifth postseason homer. The Phillies also went on to win game 2.

The Flyers won their home opener. The first in two years for load manager (a position used to prevent players from being injured), Sean Couturier. Prior to the game Couturier reminisced about his 20's. The days when he wasn't concerned about soreness or his multiple back injuries.

Prospective is everything; especially when it comes to week 6 of the 2023 NFL season. Both the Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers went into this week 5-0. It would have been plausible if one of these undefeated teams lost, but many didn’t foresee that both teams would lose. Fans were shocked to see these teams lose within the last few moments in each game.

The Cleveland Browns and the New York Jets played week 6 without their quarterback. The Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson was unable to play because of a bruised rotator cuff that he received during week 3; and the Jets quarterback, Arron Rodgers, ended his season in Week 1 when he tore his Achilles tendon. Both teams had a home field advantage. The New York Jets made the impossible possible when they sealed the fate of the Eagles in the 4th quarter. This was the first win over the Eagles in franchise history.

After losing to the Jets, Kelce was seen the next day with his brother Travis at game 1 of the NLCS. This shows us that even though we work hard we need to take time to relax and enjoy life. Our prospective can make our journey full of disappointments or joy. This week the Jets and the Browns remind us to have a growth mindset. Entrepreneurs often use failure to catapult into success and are seen thriving after overcoming adversities. Having a growth mindset, believing in ourselves, our business, products and/or service is a major part of our success.

This is evident when we look at the Philadelphia Eagles who despite their recent loss set a few records. A.J. Brown became the second Philadelphia Eagle to run 125 yards in four consecutive games; and Jason Kelce set a record of starting in the most games in Eagles history with 145 consecutive starts.
