This week was an emotional roller-coaster ride for Philadelphia sports fans. During game 7 of the National League Championship Series (NLCS) the Phillies lost against the Arizona Diamondbacks. By the bottom of the ninth, Phillies fans were seen crying, praying, and some exhibiting a combination of the two.
Many will forget the contributions of Kyle Schwarber, Bryce Harper, J.T. Realmuto, Aaron Nola, and Zack Wheeler, but when you set records it’s hard to be cast into the shadows. Lefty Pitcher, Ranger Suárez was removed from game 7 during the 4th ending, but that didn't stop him from having the lowest postseason Earned Run Average (ERA) (minimum five starts) in MLB history, 0.94 ERA.
Speaking of running and creating your own lane, Sunday, October 22, 2023, was National Tight End Day. The first official Tight End Day was celebrated on October 27, 2019. In 2018, Tight End George Kittle was caught on an open mic during a matchup up with the Detroit Lions, boasting to his teammates that it’s “National Tight Ends Day; it’s a holiday!” Hyped up from his sentiment, Garrett Celek, fellow tight end went in for the touchdown; contributing to 49ers win, 30-27.
Tight Ends showed up on National Tight End Day! Honorable mentions to the Eagles, Patriots, Ravens, and Bears Tight Ends for an amazing game. Cole Kmet, Tight End for the Bears played his part in contributing to Tyson Bagent (quarterback) scoring his first career touchdown. The undrafted free agent and Bears rookie was voted by Verizon to have the best rookie performance on Sunday. He had 162 yards in his first career start; contributing to the Bears win over the Raiders, 30-12. (Redzone, October 22,2023.) Travis Kelce celebrated this newfound holiday by making his 50th touchdown connection with Patrick Mahomes.
Week 7 was an acrobatic week for the NFL. Players were leaping over each other and twisting and turning like they were in the matrix. I want to say thank you to Warren, Pickett, and Harris for your 4th quarter contribution to the Steelers win because Nacua is a problem; is this the reason why y’all kneeled 3 times? To ensure your win over the Dolphins. Don't be scared. Lol.
I’m kidding, but seriously, your success may aggravate some people. I had someone once tell me “You’re going to hire all these Indeed people. I been here for years, I don’t need a degree.” This person was right, you don’t need a degree to be great at what you do, but in some cases having a degree is like adding salt to your food; it enhances the flavor.
Sometimes before you even start there are people hoping for your downfall. After a while it can become challenging to stay focused. That’s why having a strategy in place can help you determine if your next play will help you score. Whether it’s a two-point conversion or a touchdown it adds to your overall success. With that said, I want to say thank you to everyone who registered for the upcoming Career Essential Webinar, provided by Elevated Standards LLC https://www.elevatedstandardspa.com/.
